When you decide you want to move out of your home into a smaller living space it’s best to start with the following steps:

  1. De-clutter your current living space. Remember, you won’t be able to bring everything with you.
  2. If you elect to have your family members help you that will be beneficial to you. If you need assistance from someone other than family members, Frances Miller can provide contacts that that can assist you.
  3. Arrange for your children to go through any possessions you may want to give them.
  4. Make a list of all household furniture that you want to take with you once you find the space and have a floor plan of your new living space.
  5. Any household items that you or your children do not want can be donated to various charitable organizations such as The Salvation Army, Habitat For Humanity, the veterans association or St. Vincent Depaul’s. You can also donate unwanted possessions to your chosen house of worship.
  6. Once you have done the aforementioned, your senior consultant, Frances Miller, will recommend contractors that you can rely on to give your home a sprucing up before she assists you in listing and selling your home.
  7. Now you can begin to investigate community living places that would suit your needs both emotionally and physically. Your senior consultant, Frances Miller will assist you.
  8. Once you have decided, based on your emotional and physical needs where you would like to live, your personal consultant can meet with you and make housing recommendations to suit your needs.
